Female Development Programme

Female Development Programme

Women’s football in New Zealand is on the rise, with continued growth year on year, helped by the recent Womens World Cup. FC Twenty 11 commitment to the growth of female football at all ages and all levels (Club or Development).  The Female Development Programme is a pathway for those girls wanting to train 2+ times a week, coached by a OFC C Licensed coach and play in the top division for their grade.  The game played is no different from our male counterparts, however are approach is slightly different.  Females, more so in our Youth grades and above are more interested in understanding the “why” we’re doing this drill, more interested in the tactical aspect of football and more likely to give feedback or engage with the coach regarding their individual needs or desires.  We understand this and offer an environment that is safe for individuals are able to grow and develop alongside their peers with the support of their coaches. Through the programme girls are able to build connections with their peers and create long-lasting friendships. The programme not only develops them as footballers but as a person too.

We are offering a Girls Development programme lead by Director of Football Cvetan (Tsetso) Ivanov (UEFA “A” & OFC “A” License), Graham McMann (OFC “B” License) and delivered by Football Development Officer Dennise Robinson (OFC “C” License), Sam Baker (OFC “C” License) and Melissa Green (aspiring OFC “C” License).  This programme is run through NZ Football’s Girls Framework – a tailor-made pathway for girls focused on Objective 2 and Objective 3 as shown below.
