First Kicks

First Kicks

(Children born between 2013 – 2016)

The ‘First Kick‘ programme is designed to provide a fun and enjoyable experience, for both new and experienced junior players, further developing their football skills.  The Coach will commence the session with a range of ‘Fit for Football’ activities prior to placing the children into groups of 8 or 10 players.  Each group will then rotate around a series of activities designed to develop a particular skill or technique (provided by New Zealand Football framework).  The children will remain in these groups as they rotate around the activities.  Once the rotation has been completed, the groups will then be divide into teams (3 aside or 4 aside) to play in small sided games.  The teams are kept small to enable all players the opportunity to touch the ball.  More touches of the ball = Higher participation rate and of course more fun!!

Game Days

Season Starts: Saturday 30th March until Saturday 17th August 2019 (Club Fun Day)

Time: 9.30am ​- 10:30am

Venue:​ Avonhead Park, Hawthornden Road, Avonhead

Cancellations:​ Parents/Guardians will be notified by email before 8:00am (Game days)

Uniform:​ FC apparel is compulsory – this will be available for sale at the start of the season at Avonhead Park. All details are available on the web page, regarding when / where gear will be sold.

All children are to meet at Pitch I6 which can be located by the pitch locator map at Avonhead car park. Our Football Development Manager, Ollie Hawkins, will manage the sessions with the help of Club Coaches, Senior players and Volunteer parents. Please note that all parents must stay and be responsible for their child.  If you can help as a Game Leader / Coach of one of these groups – ​PLEASE email us!! To be a Game Leader / Coach you DON’T need to know any football rules – you also stay with your own child the whole time!!!!!

Training Days

Training Session: Every Monday; from March 25th and continues until 12th August, with breaks for school holidays.

Time: 4:00pm – 5:00pm

Monday training sessions ​will follow the McDonald’s fun football curriculum from our accredited coaches.  The programme is designed to be enjoyable, educational, following a well researched football pathway. The programme focuses on the development of your kids general movement, football coordination and football technique.

2019 Registration & Fees

Earlybird Fee:  $100 (must register and pay by 17th March 2019) EXTENDED TO 24th MARCH

Full Fee: $135 (must register and pay by 6th April 2019)
