Women’s football in New Zealand is on the rise, with continued growth year on year, helped by the recent Womens World Cup. FC Twenty 11 commitment to the growth of female football at all ages and all levels (Club or Development). This programme offers the opportunity for girls (8th Grade upwards) to be involved in football in a way that is specific to their needs. We offer an environment that is safe where the individuals are able to grow and develop alongside their peers with the support of their coaches. Through the programme girls are able to build connections with their peers and create long-lasting friendships. By having a girls-only programme girls will feel a sense of belonging within the programme. The programme not only develops them as footballers but as a person too.

As a club, we understand and support girls that wish to play in a mixed team (boys and girls). We’re open to hybrid models whereby girls can play in the mixed grade but train one day a week with a girls team. We just want to see more girls playing football and enjoying it. Our Winter Season starts at the end of April and runs until early September.
Players are placed into teams and play against other clubs in the Mainland Youth Football competition. For our Club Pathway Programme, our Football Development staff will make selections based on player previous experience and performance at pre-season Open Training / Player allocation sessions. Once players are allocated a team, a volunteer coach may be required from amongst the players’ parents. All Saturday games are coached, managed and refereed by volunteers. Teams should also try to select a manager to assist the coach on match days etc. The club will provide training and support for all coaches, including the offering of NZF Youth Level 1 Course to those interested.
Players will also have the opportunity to join our Girls Development Programme. This programme provides for those who are seeking extra challenges. The Girls Development Programme players have the opportunity to unlock their higher potential as they advance through the grades towards Womens Football selection and give them the chance to play against the best teams in Christchurch. If it’s raining…
If we need to cancel training or a game day due to bad weather, we will update our Facebook page 2 hours prior the event. Normally with light rain we let the session go ahead (unless parks are closed by CCC)
