Youth Football

For players aged 13 to 19 (based on their year of birth)

For 2023 this will be children born from 2004 to 2010

 

The focus for this age group is to provide opportunities for players who would like more footballing activity with an environment that encompasses training and competition, while still promoting the enjoyment of the game. All Games are 11 aside.

2023 Spring (Term 4) Programme

Registrations are now open

13th & 14th Grades (born in 2010 & 2009)

Training Day Session Focus:  Focusing on the 4 core skills – Fundamental Movements, Individual Skill Development, Small Games and 2v1 or 1v1s
Dates: 
Tuesdays, 17th October to 5th December (8 week)
Time:  5:00 pm – 6:15 pm
Venue:Avonhead Park
Cost:​ $80
Uniform:​ FC apparel is optional, however boots & shin pads are compulsory.
Cancellations:​ To be published on FC Twenty11’s Facebook page and WhatsApp channel two hours prior to the session.

2024 Back to Football (Term 1) Programme

Our Term 1 Back to Football Programme provides a four-week stepping stone for all players wishing to get their fitness levels up before the start of the Winter season

13th- 19th Grades (born in 2004 to 2010)

Training Day Session Focus:  Focusing on the 4 core skills – Passing, Dribbling, Shooting & 1v1,
Dates: 
Thursday 16th Feb, 23rd Feb, 2nd Mar & 9th Mar
Time:  4:30 pm – 5:30 pm
Venue:​ Avonhead Park
Cost:​ $32
Uniform:​ FC apparel is optional, however boots & shin pads are compulsory.

Game Day Session Focus: Football festival-style mini-games/tournaments
Dates: 
Fridays, 17th Feb, 24th Feb, 3rd Mar & 10th Mar.
Time:  5:30 pm – 6:30 pm

2024 Winter Season Programme

Registrations will open in February

 

Please read all the information below before registering your child.

The Winter Season starts on 22nd April and finishes on 3rd September.

Players are placed into teams and play against other clubs in the Mainland Junior Football competition.

FC Twenty 11 provides two different pathways for our members:

Club Programme: This programme is aimed at children who wish to play for FUN with friends or wish to train once a week in addition to the Saturday game day.

Development Programme: This programme is aimed at children who are committed to training twice a week with qualified coaches in addition to the Saturday game day.

 

Club Programme:

In this programme our players train once a week and have a game day on a Saturday morning.

Players may request to play in the same team with their friends.

Players who wish to be part of this programme are not required to attend Team Allocation sessions.

Once players are allocated a team, a volunteer game day coach, referee, and manager will be required from amongst the players’ parents/caregivers. All Saturday games are coached, managed, and refereed by volunteers! The club will provide training and support for all team officials, including the offering of NZF Youth Level 1 Coaching and Community Referee Courses.

Season Costs

Grade 13 – Grade 19 Club Football Registration Fee for 2023: 

Early Bird Registration $205.00 (if registering and paying before 31st Mar)
Standard Registration $215.00 (If registering and paying from 1st Apr)

Registration fees are made up of Club, Mainland Football, and NZ Football fees.  They do not include any extras (ie apparel, boots, shin pads, or tournament costs)

Additional Costs:

Uniform: FC apparel is compulsory for ALL players and can be purchased via our online shop.

Football boots: Boots (no metal studs) and shin pads are mandatory for ALL players. These can be purchased through local sports stores.

Tournaments: If attending a tournament during/at the end of the season, there will be additional costs associated with these.

 

Parents Meeting – all players 13th – 19th Grades

Sunday 12th March 10.30 am – 11:30 am, FC Twenty 11 Clubrooms, Upper Riccarton Domain.

This meeting is especially for new families joining us for the first time.  It will outline the expectations of all players and parents.  It is also compulsory for everyone who wishes to play in the development programme.

Winter Season Training & Playing Information

Training day: TBC by team coaches

Game Day Grade 13: Saturdays 9:15 am – 10:30 am – both home (Burnside Park) and away starting 22nd April and ending 3rd September.

Game Day Grade 14: Saturdays 10:45 am – 12:00 pm – both home (Burnside Park) and away starting 22nd April and ending 3rd September.

Game Day Grade 15: Saturdays 9:15 am – 10:40 am – both home (Burnside Park or Avonhead Park) and away starting 22nd April and ending 3rd September.

Game Day Grade 17: Saturdays 12:30 pm – 2:00 pm – both home and away (Burnside Park or Avonhead Park) and away starting 22nd April and ending 3rd September.

Game Day Grade 19: Saturdays 10:45 am – 12:25 pm – both home and away (Burnside Park or Avonhead Park) and away starting 22nd April and ending 3rd September.

Cancellations: To be published on FC Twenty11’s Facebook page and WhatsApp channel on Friday afternoons.

Coaching or Managing a Team

Parents, caregivers, or supporters are required as team coaches, managers & referees for our Junior club teams. All Junior Saturday games are coached, managed, and refereed by volunteers!

FC Twenty 11 has been going through a sustained period of growth over the last few years. The biggest strain that this puts on us is in the area of finding enough coaches or managers and once we have done that, ensuring that they are adequately prepared. Some of our coaches/managers are parents who may never have played football before. To support these dedicated volunteers, we do and will continue to run, both in-house and external coaching courses. Our Director of Football, Tsetso, is available to support and resource coaches.

If you are a parent or past player who has flirted with the idea of coaching a team – please give it a try!  It is a truly rewarding experience.

Development Programme:

Players will also have the opportunity to join our Junior Development Programme. This programme provides for those who are seeking extra challenges.  Youth Development Programme players have the opportunity to unlock their higher potential as they advance through the grades toward Senior Football selection.
