In remembrance of the late Christchurch Mosque victims, FC Twenty11 would like to invite players to the Tariq Omar 5-side Memorial Cup.

Tariq Omar was a beloved and valued player for FC Twenty11, a volunteer coach for younger grades and an ambassador for the game.  We welcome all Mainland Football club members and volunteers within our community to join together for the Tariq Omar Memorial Cup.

Date: Sunday 31st October

Time: First games commence at 10am

Location: Avonhead Park

Cost: $70 per team, maximum of 10 players per team (17yrs and above)

Tiers:

  Competitive (winning team to be presented with the Tariq Omar Memorial Cup)

  Social (bragging rights) – No longer an option due to Covid restrictions of less than 100 people.

Game:

Rules: Normal 5-aside rules (goal must be scored outside of designated boundary).

System: Round Robin followed by straight Playoffs

Time: 20 minute games (10 minutes per half), with 2 minute half-time break

Points: 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw
