Girls Development Programme

U16 Girls Academy

The U16 Girls Academy kicks off its first training session on Monday, February 3rd at 6:30 PM at Avonhead Park S2.  Come meet the coach and connect with your teammates as you begin this exciting program.  Join us on your journey toward improving your skills and exploring pathways to higher competitive levels!

With participation rates in girls and women’s football growing 35% over the last five years, and with no sign of it slowing down anytime soon, we’re excited at FC Twenty 11 to support the growth and development of our female members.  Over the years FC Twenty11 have developed a number of Mainland Football Pride players and would like to continue this tradition.  To support that ambition, there will be a range of Skill Centres available to girls, then offering girls the option to play in a girls only team or mixed teams across all grades.

We are investing in the girls youth programmes with the aim of offering quality opportunities for each participant to develop technically and tactically. In 2025 and beyond we are focusing on developing a highly competitive U16 Academy Team which endeavours to challenge the football brain of the girls and prepare them for senior football in the coming years. In 2024 the Women’s CWCL team finished first in their competition which was an outstanding effort from all who was involved. We are delighted to have a wCPL team once again and look forward to building further momentum in the woman’s space. Our Premier Woman’s Team operates alongside our Men’s First Team in having the same access to quality training and player gear and are able to train and play on our premier sand-based pitch.  FC Twenty 11 are looking forward to growing our female football members space more providing more options in the competitive and social team spaces.

2025 WINTER SEASON PROGRAMME

Our Winter Season starts at the end of April and runs until early September.  Players are placed into teams and play against other clubs in the Mainland Football top Youth competition.  For our Female Development Programme, our Football Development staff will make selections based on player previous experience and performance at pre-season Open Training / Player allocation sessions.  Once players are allocated a team, a OFC C Licenced Coach will then take the lead with the support of the FC Twenty 11 A and B Licenced Coaches, to deliver the Female Development Programme.

More information regarding training and playing information will be updated soon.

In the meantime, if you have any questions, please contact our Girls Football Coordinator via email at: girls@fctwenty11.co.nz
