With the 2024 AFC Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament kicking off today (7th February) with a solid Football Ferns 3-0 win against Tonga (all 3 goals scored in the first 16 minutes) now is the time to start thinking of the football season ahead. The New Zealand Football Ferns achieved so much in 2023 Womens World Cup and then the Phoenix Women’s team getting off to a good start of their campaign; it’s great to see. We’ve got a long way to go but we’re starting to see measurable growth in female football both at FC Twenty 11 and across New Zealand.
