Tariq Omar Memorial Cup

In remembrance of the late Christchurch Mosque victims, FC Twenty11 would like to invite players to the Tariq Omar 7-aside Memorial Cup. Tariq Omar was a beloved and valued player for FC Twenty11, a volunteer coach for younger grades and an ambassador for the game.  We welcome all Mainland Football club members and volunteers within our community to join together for the Tariq Omar Memorial Cup.

Date: Sunday 1st November 2020

Time: First games commence at 9am (finishing roughly 1pm)

Location: Avonhead Park

Cost: $100 per team, maximum of 10 players per team

Grades:

• Competitive (winning team to be presented with the Tariq Omar Memorial Cup)
• Social

Game:

Rules: Normal 7-aside rules with the exception of no appointed goalkeeper.  Goal must be scored outside of designated boundary.

System: Pool play with QF, SF, Final elimination

Time: 14 minute games (7 minutes per half), with 2 minute half-time break

Points: 1 point per goal (man), 2 points per goal (female)

Tariq’s family have requested that all funds raised will go towards families struggling financially to fund their child’s football subs.
