It’s with great exciting that we are set to commemorate Tariq through the running of the 2021 Tariq Omar Memorial Cup.
Due to being in Covid Level 2, tournament has been restricted to 8 teams of no more than 10 players. That, alongside a handful of helpers and referees to remain under the 100 people event restrictions. On arrival, we ask that all players and supporters to use the QR Code located on the Avonhead Park Kiosk or the red tent (where Melissa will be). Hand sanitiser will be made available for all to use. It goes without saying, but I’ll say it….don’t share drink bottles, please keep 2 metre distance from other teams and where masks where possible (not while playing!).
At the conclusion of the tournament, we will ask Tariq’s family to present the trophy to the winning team.
In the case of wet weather, a decision will be made on the 31st October at 8am (or earlier) and communicated to each Team Manager to advise fellow team mates. We will then look to hold the tournament either in late November or in the New Year.
Further Covid Restrictions
We hope this will not be the case, but if we are advised of further restrictions we will reach out to the respective Team Managers with either what steps can be taken to adhere to the new restrictions or if a rescheduling of the tournament would be the most appropriate approach.
We will be supplying the referees for all the games. No different from any other football game, we ask that you are respectful of the referee calls and decisions.
Please find below the round robin draw, then playoffs. Any questions, please email Melissa on MelissaLGreen@outlook.com.
