Female Football 2020

With participation rates in girls and women’s football growing 35% over the last five years, and with no sign of it slowing down anytime soon, we are excited at FC Twenty11 to support the growth and development of our female members.  We are proud to announce the appointment of our first female-focused Football Development Officer – Gareth Preston.

Gareth brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the club with previous experience in female football having held similar football roles at a number of clubs.  As a past Avon United player himself and having previously coached at Burnside AFC, he is extremely excited to be coming on board and implementing a player-focused development program with a desire to make players experience a fun and enjoyable experience.

Gareth has started on a club development plan for female players of all ages – from those new to the game right through to senior women’s football, with the ultimate aim to build sufficient numbers and interest so that we can run female-only programmes for our members all year round.  Keep an eye on our Facebook page for updates as Gareth begins to roll out his female focused football programmes.
